So, it appears that Jose Padilla, the fellow accused of plotting to build a "dirty bomb," was born in New York. I personally believe he should be charged with treason and espionage, both capital crimes, and that the government should persue the death penalty. While I am normally opposed to the death penalty, American citizens who work for Al Qaeda make life much more difficult for the overwhelmingly vast majority of natrualized citizens who are loyal Americans. Al Qaeda has been making a concerted effort to recruit American citizens, and we need to make it very clear that aiding and abetting this enemy will bring the harshest possible penalties.
